Since you are an
airline transport pilot with part 121 pilot-in-command experience, understanding the role of runwaydata.net groundschool is
essential. You will be introduced to the standard imposed on a recognized state (for example, US or Canada) by the
European Union (E-U) .
The United Kingdom is a member of the E-U. Since the UK Civil Aviation Authority
ATPL License can be sought, certain pre-requisites (already mentioned) must be met. The professional aviation industry is rapidly evolving as it adapts to changes in technology & international
business competition & trade.
There will always be a demand for highly skilled & experienced "Aircraft
Commanders." The United Kingdom ATPL commands global recognition & respect. A resume/c.v. listing this accomplishment
has led to pilot career opportunities being offered throughout the world.
A lawyer friend told me, "we (the
USA & Canada) are British common law countries." This is a "common law" license based on many years of
precedent whose origins are maritime ("Britannia ruling the waves").
